What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We typically have a quick phone call to try and understand the exact issue facing the customer and to schedule an onsite estimate. Once a date and time for our Free Estimate is confirmed we will show up on time and explain our findings with the customer along with a detailed quote for any repairs we are recommending.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our company has a NC and SC General Contractors License (NC #102400 & SC #125566). Over 300 successful projects completed each year

How did you get started doing this type of work?

We have purchased and renovated over 100 homes in and around the Charlotte area over the past 15 years and over that time we had the opportunity to work on foundation, structural, and waterproofing issues on our own homes first. Our crew is now proficient at any and all crawlspace and foundation issues we encounter.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We work primarily with residential customers, but also do commercial projects as they come up.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We recently completed significant crawl space structural work for a home in Charlotte. Prior to doing the necessary structural work we needed to dig out access for several days. It was a tough job for our crew, however once it was completed it was a dramatic transformation!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Check all of the online sites for customer reviews (Google, Angie's List, BBB, Facebook, Home Advisor along with Thumbtack). BBB, Angie's List, Home Advisor, and Thumbtack also do background checks on companies. If the reviews are not positive your experience may not be what you are hoping for.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

If you have any awkward question that you want to ask you must speak up and ask it. For example if you are unsure if a contractor will come out for free to provide you with a quote it is much better to go ahead and ask that question up front vs finding out you owe an inspection fee after the fact. There are no question off limits for Foundation Doctor.
