Introduction

What makes my business stand out is I like to have a rapport with my customers. Pay attention to the details that they would so their floors turn out the way they expect. I like to go above and beyond whether that is in the quality of the work I provide or in being available when the customer needs me to be.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
pricing is done on a case by case basis. It is hard to give a price on an approximate job size and without having seen the condition of the floors.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The customer should have me come assess the condition of their floors and take a measurement so that I can give them a more accurate estimate. Then we can discuss what direction they would like to go in as far as colors and finishes for the floors.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
When possible I may attend various seminars usually given by product distributors in the area, as well as having 34 years of hands on experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Oddly enough a girl I had gone to college with mentioned to me that her bf had just started a company and was looking for people to work for him. I said sure I would try it not knowing a thing about wood floors at the time and here I am 30 years later!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with all sorts of customers from homeowners to small commercial jobs

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently did a small pine job for a young couple. It was only one bedroom and a small hallway but they were so excited to see the outcome - the floor was pine and it was sanded and stained a darker color - only took 3 days to sand, stain and coat but I always enjoy when the customer is really pleased with how it turns out!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Be sure they give you as much information as they can and ask questions so that you can truly make an informed decision

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
how long will the project take, what effect will the work have on the rest of the household(ie will they need to stay elsewhere for the duration, etc), what sort of options are available, what does the professional recommend for their situation(different types of stains or finishes recommended for kids or pets or things like that)
