What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our financing program is simple and straightforward. As part of your free inspection, you'll meet with one of our specialists who can provide a detailed written estimate as well as outline financing options. Together, you'll decide what type of financing, if any, meets your needs and budget.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our crew leaders get in touch with you before they arrive and keep you updated throughout the project. After your project is completed, your Crew Leader will review all the completed work with you, and our team will follow-up with you as well to see how everything went. You will also receive a survey that allows you to rate your entire experience with Thrasher.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Every crew member participates in a thorough onboarding process and ongoing training to ensure the best quality of work with every project we complete. In fact, alongside our sister company, Supportworks, we train other contractors from around North America on best practices. Additionally, System Design Specialists and Crew Leaders meet to discuss every single project beforehand. They review the contract, special instructions and pictures to make sure we deliver on our promises.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Thrasher Foundation Repair was initially founded by Greg and Nancy Thrasher in 1975 in a farmhouse just outside of Earling, Iowa. Greg handled the installations while Nancy dealt with the office work. The focus was always on customers and making sure that they were well taken care of. The only service offered at that time was basement waterproofing, but Greg would find himself helping customers with other handyman services. Most of the work was through referrals, and the company slowly grew over the years. In the early 1980s, Greg and Nancy relocated the company to Omaha, Nebraska and began serving the eastern half of Nebraska and the western half of Iowa. Through the 1980s and 1990s, the business grew significantly. They began offering other services, including foundation repair and concrete leveling. These services were natural fits with the basement waterproofing business as all were related to rain and soil. The goal was never to become a large company, but through excellent customer service, the company saw steady growth and eventually would become an industry leader.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
At Thrasher, we’ve worked with customers of all types. But in our industry, it’s most common to provide worried homeowners with our services. When their home is experiencing stress from our Midwest climate and in need of a timely repair, that’s when we’re able to make a significant impact on our customers.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently completed a foundation repair project in Omaha that was seemingly more rewarding than others. This parent just purchased their first home, but the front porch was experiencing severe settlement, making it a potential hazard for her child. Our crews installed four galvanized Smart Jacks in one day to permanently level and stabilize the porch throughout the changes in seasons. The homeowner was more than pleased with their entire Thrasher experience, and they were so grateful to have their new investment protected for the future of their family. We understand how daunting and expensive the home-buying process can be, and to restore a customer’s peace of mind to this level is both rewarding and reassuring that we’re redefining the contractor experience.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
The greatest piece of advice we could give a customer is to hire someone you can trust. We understand it’s hard to be patient when your home is in situations where time is against you, but it’s crucial to be patient and find the contractor that brings you the most comfort and peace of mind through constant communication and the quality of their services.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
A few questions to ask yourself as a homeowner before speaking with your contractor are, but are not limited to: When did I first notice this issue? Has it worsened with time? Is it affecting how safe I feel in my home? Do I know anyone who’s experienced a similar issue? (Recommendations are always a great place to start when looking for a contractor.) Having done research, what is my budget for this repair? What is my timeline for having this issue solved? Do I want to be home when the repair is being made? If so, I need to be prepared to schedule that time.
