What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Here at Jenkins Custom Hardwood Floors we like to come out to the home and run estimates in person. I can say a standard sand and finish starts at $4.00 a square foot.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When working with new customers here at Jenkins Custom Hardwood Floors, we first and foremost want to get to know our customer, find out exactly what the customer is looking for. We offer to sample stains, and of course display our pervious work with our new customers so they can get a look on our finished product.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

30 years of experience finishing, and staining custom colors and floors. Also introducing The Second Generation of Craftsman here at Jenkins Custom Hardwood Floors.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Started as a high school job in 1987, and instantly fell in love with the customers reaction to my finished product. To this day, I still get the same satisfaction for a job well done.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Home decorators, private and general contractors, home owners, realtors, even do it your selfers!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We tore old existing wood out of a third story attic, and reinstalled the second and first floor patch to keep the original flooring which was 120 year old Hartland Pine. This project from start to finish took us 5 days!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure they're working with professional equipment, and also having a decent amount of experience under their belt!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Are they prepared to have their floors none accessible while this project is taking place, which usually takes about 2-3 days depending on size. What color do they want their floors to be. What type of sheen do they want on their final coat of urethane.
