PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE SECTION : This is a family business that started with my dad when he became a flooring installer in 1963. He and I worked together as a team for 23 years before he had to quit working due to health problems in 2014. I have 34 years of experience installing floor covering and doing any repair work and restretching related to carpet. I am very detailed in my work, and I get a lot of satisfaction leaving a job looking great and with the customer being fully satisfied. I don't take any shortcuts on my jobs, and I want it to look like I would have it in my own home. I talk to customers well and explain the work, and answer any questions they have. I want them to be fully satisfied when I leave their home. **Also, If I install new carpet the rooms need to be empty with no furniture in them. I only do empty installs of new carpet. I accept cash and checks made out to Shawn Conner, and payment is due upon completion of the job. ** My minimum charge for a small carpet repair is $110.00. ** The base price for restetching carpet is $150.00 ( bedroom or a hallway ) ** Bigger jobs are priced by what needs to be done. *** MY BUSINESS HOURS ARE MONDAY THRU FRIDAY FROM 8AM TO 4 PM. BIGGER JOBS ARE SCHEDULED FOR MORNING HOURS. THE LATEST I CAN COME OUT IN THE AFTERNOON WOULD BE 2PM AND THAT WOULD ONLY BE FOR A SMALL JOB OR A REPAIR. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I can give you an estimated cost for a job without seeing it based on info or pictures you provide. Once I see the job I will give you an up front firm cost for the job before starting. I try to provide a fair cost for my jobs so I do not negotiate for less when I give you the price I will do it for.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to be quick and responsive to my customers. I will be in contact with the customer by a phone call or text from the start to finish of each job.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 32 years of experience in this profession and was taught by my dad and learned things from other installers over the years that I have worked around.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

This business started with my dad. He and I worked together for 23 years.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Homeowners, remodel contractors, new home builders and rental property owners.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are looking for someone to install carpet or restretch it you need to make sure they use a carpet power stretcher on their jobs. Some installers will save time and cut corners by not using one and then the carpet will not be completely tight.

Experience and knowledge of the installer? Correct tools that they use? Getting up front pricing before the job is started?
