Introduction

Hi, I’m Bryce Arnett, proud owner of The Hardwood Flooring Pros and an even prouder father of four! With over five years of hands-on experience with hardwood floors—plus plenty of practice cleaning up after spills, scuffs, and the occasional crayon masterpiece—I’ve made it my mission to bring hardwood floors back to life. I combine expert craftsmanship and an exquisite eye for detail with a deep-rooted passion and love for what I do, treating every hardwood floor like it’s my own and every client like family. My goal is simple: to deliver stunning hardwood flooring results you’ll love while helping your home shine, one plank at a time!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Since our "Bread & Butter" and Specialty is in Hardwood Floor Sand & Refinishing, the pricing for such apllies as follows. The cost of a Sand & Refinish (for example) can vary considerably, but you should expect to spend between $6-$10/sq ft, depending on the species/type of wood floor, the condition of the floor, the complexity of the job itself, the square footage, as well as where you reside in proximity to the company's physical location. We offer a 5% referral fee as well!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Depending on the service we're providing (Install, Addition, Repair, Sand & Refinish), the process is fairly smooth. We begin by locating an area with good, natural lighting, then we sand out an area and lay down up to 5 samples (anything beyond that requires an additional cost) and offer a variety of finish "sheens" - Gloss, Sem-Gloss, Sating, Matte, Ultra Matte - to satisfy your eyes. From there, we get to work. For more information about the Sand & Refinish Process, please visit our "Services" tab on our website, where we go into great detail about what our service(s) entail!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
6+ Years of Hands-on training, plus continuing education via Bona, Pallmann, NWFA, as well as our Suppliers.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
By accident, really. I'd just moved back to Utah after living on the Big Island of Hawaii for 6 years. I ran into an old friend who convinced me to come work with him. From there, and after working with him for a few years, I chose to break off and start my own company. That way I could do things "my way" while focusing on providing the most value possible, while also offering a "Turnkey Solution" when it comes to Sand & Refinishing. I'm a very "visual" person, and this type of work appeals to me greatly. Plus, I LOVE meeting new people, and I LOVE reviving their hardwood floors!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
From easy-going to extremely-picky. Although, when you're investing this type of money into a home renovation project, it behooves us to understand people's needs and wants by asking lots of questions, overcommunicating, and providing a valuable product that is sure to solicit that "WOW!" factor from each of our clients.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We refinished an engineered hardwood floor that was made from HEMP! It was pretty tricky to work with, and our client had us go through roughly 35 different stain colors, but the end-result was fantastic and they were more than satisfied!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure they're both licensed & insured. Moreover, hire a dedicated professional hardwood flooring craftsman that SPECIALIZES in their craft, since there are LOTS of subcontractors who "moonlight" as hardwood flooring guys. Ask for references/referrals from past clients who DIDN'T post a review online. Lastly, just because one company provides you with a "cheaper" quote, that may mean that you'll receive less than ideal quality and service. The inverse is true as well. Use your intution and don't feel pressured!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How long will it take? What products do you use? Do we have to vacate the home? When can we walk on it? How do we care for the floor(s) afterwards? How long before we should have it screened and recoated?
