Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
When starting a new construction project, you can have 2 of 3 things. It can be fast, cheap or done well! We pride ourselves on our quality and speed and do our best to accommodate your budget range. With that being said, sometimes we are not in your budget and that is okay! Just remember that your new flooring should last you years, don't overspend by hiring cheap contractors twice! Once today and another to fix the job!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I'd like to get a feel for what you would like. We typically start with an introductory call where we learn about your flooring needs including square footage, desires for surrounding baseboards, material we are removing, material we are installing, staircase needs, disposal services, and the applicable chargers. Once discussed, we send out a "rough estimate" detailing the cost of the project so you go in with your eyes open. If the rough estimate is within range, we schedule an on-site estimate to finalize the square footage, answer any questions and set a date for the transformation to begin.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have had the pleasure to apprentice under my father who worked with wood for over 25 years. Under his guidance, I apprenticed for many years, learning the trade of wood door making, installation, installation of flooring, staircase work, baseboards work, etc. This is the fruit of our labor of love. Since then I have been primarily focused on flooring installation for the past few years, including stair work, baseboard installation, and house transformations!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My father had a passion for woodworking as well, as a child, I watched as he made fabulous customer-designed doors for his customers (among other things), one day, when my father was out, I tried my hand at the wood and found that watching him has made me a skilled natural with custom door creation. By the time he returned, my first masterpiece was hanging on the hinges. The rest is history! We worked on many flooring projects together and eventually, I grew wings of my own to soar!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have laid flooring for both residential and commercial customers. We work to make sure your needs are met. We have worked in daycares, residential homes, hair salons, warehouses, legal offices, etc. We work with customers to limit any potential disruptions to their work and home lives.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find someone that is honest, hardworking, and responsible! Ask questions, and make sure that they are licensed, bonded, and insured in the state of Washington. Read their reviews and make sure they respect your values and preferences. These floors will be yours, make sure you are making the final choices prior to making purchases.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How many projects have you completed? What sets you apart from other contractors? Are you licensed? Are you bonded? Do you have business insurance? Are you able to provide any discounts on materials?
