What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Meals for the week, bi weekly or monthly have standard pricing. There are no refunds for private dinners three days before the event. Catering can vary depending on the menu and/or needs of the client.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to consult with the client to find out what exactly they are looking for. This gives me a chance to have more details so that I can make a menu that will stand out.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was in the U.S. Navy and there is where I learned to cook food from different cultures. I was also and executive chef for 4 years at Entertainment Cruises in Washington, D.C.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started in the military and it became a passion that I enjoy and I've been making great meals ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have had the pleasure of serving former mayor Vincient Grey, the late former mayor Marion Barry and I've even had the chance to service the WNBA Washington Mystics basketball team.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently did a surprise catered event for the singer and actress SheShe Dance. She sings for Jazzanooga which started as a weekend event and now is a month long event. I catered for a party of 30-40 people and I was able to use the kitchen in the home. Me and the client talked about the menu for a couple of days and on the day of the event, I was there by 2 pm and ready to serve by 8.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My advice would be to do some type of research on any person that you are considering in hiring. This gives a better comfort zone for yourself in terms of doing business with the provider.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Customers should ask questions along the lines of what is included in the price and are there any hidden fees. Sometimes if it's not discussed, it's not expected to be done by the business.
