I am a veteran of the military, spending six years in the Coast Guard and also a 12 year veteran of the Boston Fire department. Although I loved my job as a firefighter, I found my true passion was working outdoors, getting my hands dirty in the garden. I also have a bachelors degree in environmental science with a focus on resource conservation. Eco Roots Gardening uses a sustainable approach combining organic gardening practices and resource conservation. Our primary goal is to help homeowners and businesses transition away from traditional grass landscapes to native drought-resistant plants, trees, and shrubs. Additionally we work with homeowners to correct and maintain sustainable drain systems that help prevent flooding, erosion, while supporting biodiversity. We value ecosystem support over aesthetics, making as little impact on Earth as possible.
