Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
COST CONSCIOUS We treat your money like it’s our money because we understand you have a budget. We provide cost effective solutions that help you stay within the budget. No one likes surprises on their landscape bills and we work diligently to eliminate surprises.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We meet at your home or virtually to brainstorm landscape design ideas, discuss possibilities and outline rough budgets. We’ll discuss your needs and vision, how you want to use the space and what your expectations are — from the project and from us.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a graduate degree in Horticulture, Accredited North East Organic Land Care professional (NOFA) and studied with a bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture/design at the New York Botanical Garden. I have been in my own business since 2000. I donate my expertise to non profits where I have earned my master gardening certificate. I lecture and teach gardening and organic land care.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
At age five, my grand mother gave me a kids wheelbarrow, a water can, a small rake and shovel and every year for Christmas a packet of seed. The rest is history.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our client come to us as referrals which makes up 90% of our work. Other business comes from clients who wish to have a property that is organic, sustainable and embrace their responsibility as stewards of the environment. Working towards sustainability is an ongoing process of learning and discovery. We are committed to improving our methods and practices, one step at a time.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We have a job in Pound Ridge that started when I was asked to design, build and maintain one of our signature vegetable gardens. This job has grown to the purpose that we now offer a completely organic lawn care program. Peter has developed the entire property with new flower beds, perennials and epic container pots. We maintain the entire property. The grass cutter came with the property and they have remained. Plenty of work for all to do a stellar job. Length of job 4 years and growing.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Connecting people with nature and creating beauty is critical to the tapestry of who we are. We have leaders and coaches, not bosses. Our teams are committed to helping each person grow and be the best person they can be for themselves and their families.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Please have a discussed budget. One does not buy a new car and walk into a dealership with no clue what type of car they wish to purchase. We are very professional and take our job seriously, Please respect this and have an idea of what you are willing to spend on your upcoming project. A range is perfectly fine.
