Introduction

The Garden Coach business provides "green thumb" garden services right to your garden! This unique crew transforms gardens of all sizes. They will get the job done in a timely manner based on your needs and expectations. The Garden Coach will point out focal points and help you maximize your curb appeal. Need some help with pruning or weeding? Not a problem! This hard working crew loves to prune and pull weeds out by the roots! With an eye for garden staging and creating a dramatic look, many ideas are shared with the customer. The owner of the business is a Carver/Scott County Master Gardener since 2009. She is required to provide volunteer hours (horticultural teaching) and additional educational hours each year taught by the University of MN horticulture area to obtain her title. The Garden Coach has a marketing plan in place to ensure the customer is satisfied. Currently, there are seven gardening assistant employees (if needed) to work with you to transform your property. In addition, this operation provides garden tools, equipment, plants (if needed) mulch, compost bags & much more... Additionally, this business works with a subcontractor for larger projects such as tree pruning/removal, hardscaping projects such as landscape pavers and/or brick wall installation. The Garden Coach understands that life can be hectic at times and appreciates having the opportunity to help someone out by making their life easier. Fully insured.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Each garden is unique and has different needs. The pricing varies depending on what needs to be done. I offer 100% customer satisfaction. If you are not happy with my services, you pay only what you think the job is worth.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Initially, I try to learn as much as possible about the customer. I ask a lot of questions about their new and/or existing garden. If the customer is interested in garden design, I invite them to my home for an initial consultation and a tour of my gardens. Understanding the customer allows me to get a picture of what is most important to them. After the initial consultation, I create a garden design plan specific to their gardening needs. We would then discuss different options and I would explain the process on how to accomplish the project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
10+ years of on-going horticulture education & training at the University of MN.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Teaching and assisting others how to garden is a passion of mine and started with a dream as a child. The rest is history.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Do I have a vision of my garden? Where is the main focal point? What types of shrubs/plants would I like to plant? How much time am I willing to devote towards watering during the initial stage of young seedlings, shrubs and trees? Any purchase of plants is an investment in curb appeal and must be taken care of (watering is crucial) during early stages of planting.
