What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on the scope of your project. Estimates include labor, materials, permits and any subcontractor costs, with no hidden fees. If anything changes during the construction, we’ll discuss it through a formal change order. While we don’t offer standard discounts, we’re always open to helping you find options that fit your budget.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process starts with a consultation to understand your goals, timeline, and budget. From there, we provide a detailed estimate and project proposal. Once approved, we handle permits, finalize the schedule, and begin working, keeping you informed every step of the way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have hands-on experience backed by years of working in the construction and remodeling industry, along with formal training in building codes, safety standards, and project management. I also stay current through continuing education and certification programs to keep up with industry best practices, new materials, and new technology. This combination of practical knowledge and ongoing learning allows me to deliver high-quality, code-compliant work on every project.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve been in the construction and remodeling industry for over 20 years, and during that time, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from small home remodels to full custom builds. As the owner and general contractor of Mussato Building, I personally oversee each project to ensure the highest quality standards are met. My background includes extensive hands-on experience in carpentry, project management, and construction planning. Over the years, I’ve built strong relationships with skilled subcontractors, suppliers, and local inspectors, allowing me to manage projects efficiently and effectively. My goal is always to provide my clients with exceptional results, clear communication, and a smooth construction experience from start to finish.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Yes, absolutely. We take pride in the quality of our work and the relationships we build with our clients. Upon request we’d be happy to provide a list of past client referrals who can speak to their experience working with Mussato Building. We can also share project photos and testimonials to give you a better sense of the work we’ve done. Let me know if you’d like to connect with any of them, and I can arrange that for you.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A recent project I really enjoyed was a full renovation of a modern second home for a couple who wanted a space to host their children and grandchildren. We opened up the layout, added more living space and smart home features, and designed a sleek kitchen perfect for entertaining. The home also includes a private guest suite and an outdoor area with a firepit, pergola and built-in grill. The project took about 1 year and turned out to be a beautiful, comfortable retreat for multi-generational family gatherings.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
always tell customers to do their homework, check references, verify licenses and insurance, and review past work. Make sure the contractor communicates clearly and listens to your needs. A good contractor should provide a detailed written estimate, be transparent about timelines, and stay responsive throughout the project. Don’t just go with the lowest bid, look for value, reliability, and proven experience.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before speaking with a contractor, customers should think through a few key questions: What's your budget? What’s your ideal timeline? What are your must-haves versus nice-to-haves? Do you have design ideas, inspiration photos, or specific materials in mind? Knowing these answers helps us better understand your vision and provide accurate guidance from the start.
