What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing is subject to the scope of project.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to have an initial consultation over the phone where you can tell me about your project and I can give a ballpark estimate to see if we want to move foreword. If you choose me I will set up a time with you to take detailed measurements and provide time to make design choices. Once the design choices are finished and signed off I will start production followed by installation.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an undergraduate degree in accounting from Arizona State University. I spent the past 12 years as a firefighter/paramedic. I have strong knowledge of construction trade and design. Woodworking has always been a passion of mine and now I get to do it fulltime.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

This work started as a hobby/personal projects. It took off after I started doing projects for friends and coworkers until encouraged to start my own business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Typically work with homeowners. I also work with general contractors, architects, designers, and real estate agents.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently completed a custom kitchen, bar, and entry unit. The job took 5 weeks to build and install. This customer had a corner pantry that was an eyesore and outdated cabinets in disrepair. Other cabinet makers offered semi custom solutions of replacement. We were able to remove the corner pantry and design a completely custom kitchen that had significantly more storage space. Our quote was also under all the other cabinet makers with more cabinets all the way to 10 ft ceilings.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Take your time to vet professionals for your project. Not all are created equal. Lowest price does not always equal a good outcome.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What is your total budget? What do you want the project to look like when completed? Try to get an estimate on cost of each trade before starting the project. This will give you the best picture of what you can afford.
