What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Design Fees are discussed directly with the client. Depending upon the project; fees will be either flat rate or hourly.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Initial Consultation then enter into verbal or written contract with deposit for design fees.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a private college degree in Interior Design. I am a former member of ASID and I attend seminars for continuing education classes.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My father was a Land Developer and Builder. I was on my first construction project by the age of 6, so it came naturally. I studied Interior Design, as well as Materials & Methods of Construction before I decided to get my degree in Interior Design.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Private Residences, Country Clubs, Health Spas and Hair Salons, Federal & Local Banks, Restaurants, Hospitals, Healthcare & Hospitality Facilities, Offices for Lawyers, Doctors, Investment Bankers and Celebrities, Private Yachts

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I designed a very rustic interior for a client but added an ethnic twist to remind them of their home in Hawaii. Project was completed within two years and remained on budget.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure that you are comfortable with the designer you are working with. Your home or office is your personal space and it needs to reflect your style; not the designers.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

There is a big difference between an interior designer and a decorator.
