About us: Robert and Caroline started as a team under RC Cleaning Services in 2020, initially serving home builders with new construction cleaning. They expanded into residential and vacation rental cleaning. As of January 2023, they began including commercial cleaning, offering janitorial services for retail and office spaces. Currently, Caroline manages the business operations from the office, while Robert oversees the cleaning activities on-site, supported by hired help as needed per job requirements.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our rates are typically valued by the square footage of a property as well as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Anywhere from a rough clean on a pre-built commercial property, to a lite clean or a standard clean of a live-in home, to a deep clean, or to the final clean of a construction phase the values can range anywhere from $.10 to $.50 per square foot, depending on the level of detail and what needs to be done. We love to discount services anytime we have larger offerings or increased cleaning frequencies.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When contacted by a new customer, our intake process involves getting information and detail about the property, and what needs to be done. If necessary, we'll ask for photos and/or go out to the property for an onsite evaluation. Afterwards, we'll provide our quote and schedule the cleaning date. Once the cleaning has been completed we will invoice for payment.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We are licensed real estate agents and have worked on new homes and with contractors for 16+ years. We have also cleaned homes off and on for businesses and homes for the past 10 years. We bring experience from the real estate world, and we understand the process and what needs to be done. We also know how to increase properties values and how to stage them for sale.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Being in real estate we've had exposure to properties, and all the inner workings of what makes them all come together. Cleaning is a natural bridge for us, and keep us interactive with people and their homes and businesses. We love the process of making someone's dream come alive whether it's in their new home or their new business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our clientele ranges from families with live-in properties to general contractors with new construction and/or remodeled properties.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
There was a remodel two of us worked on recently. It had not been lived in a couple of years, but all the dust had settled, and the new fixtures were complete but very dirty. The renovation was finished, but it had sat still for too long. Through about nine hours of heavy scrubbing and detailing a 1641 square foot property, we walked out of that place tired but glowing with accomplishment. That was a good day, everyone was happy, and the home was move-in ready.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure you get a few quotes, but don't base your decision just on price. Sometimes going cheap brings a heavier price. Trust your gut as well, even if the deal looks great. Your intuition can be very powerful. If you can get a referral even better. However, regardless of whoever you work with, make sure they are licensed and insured.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. What experience do they bring? 2. What's their pricing? 3. What do others say about them? 4. What's their cleaning process like? 5. What types of chemicals and equipment do they use? 6. Do they have a business license? 7. Do they have liability insurance? 8. How many people will they bring to a job?
