Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
At MRKT Catering, we customize each proposal based on your guest count, service style, and menu preferences to provide the best value for your event. An 18% production fee is applied to all orders which covers everything involved in bringing your event to life, including: - Menu planning and coordination - Dedicated account manager from date of inquiry through service - Packaging, presentation materials, and serving ware - Delivery logistics and necessary equipment (like chafing dishes) This ensures a smooth and high-quality experience from kitchen to event site. The only additional charge would be for event staffing, which is quoted separately based on your needs. We offer: - Volume discounts for larger events and recurring clients - Flexible service options like drop-off, full-service, or boxed meals - Custom menu packages designed to fit your taste and budget - All-inclusive packages to simplify planning Our goal is to make catering easy, seamless, and delicious—so you can focus on your event, not the logistics.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
MRKT Catering grew out of our passion for bringing people together over great food. What started as a local café evolved into a full-service catering company as more of our regulars began asking us to cater their office lunches and events. Over the years, we’ve expanded our services, built an incredible culinary team, and developed a reputation for reliability, creativity, and consistency. We’ve always believed that catering should be both delicious and stress-free—and that’s the experience we aim to deliver every time.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide range of clients—from startups and small businesses to major corporate offices and global brands like Nike and FabFitFun. Our customers include office managers planning recurring team lunches, event coordinators organizing company-wide celebrations, and marketing teams hosting brand activations or launch events. Whether it’s a casual drop-off lunch or a full-service catered experience, we tailor our approach to meet the unique needs of each client.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One recent project we’re especially proud of was catering a 300+ person STEM student competition hosted at the Los Angeles Chargers practice facility. It was an exciting, high-energy event that brought together students, educators, and professionals from across the region. We provided a fresh, filling lunch service that accommodated a variety of dietary needs—all while working within a tight setup window and coordinating logistics for a large venue. From planning to execution, the project came together over the course of a week, and we were thrilled to be part of such an inspiring and well-organized event.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for a catering partner who not only delivers great food, but also makes the planning process easy and stress-free. Ask about their communication style, how they handle logistics, and whether they can adapt to your team’s dietary needs and preferences. A good caterer should be organized, responsive, and flexible—especially when you’re feeding a large group. Don’t be afraid to ask for sample menus or a call to talk through your vision. The right provider will care about the details as much as you do.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
For catering, customers should pinpoint their event's style (formal, casual), guest count, and dietary needs. A firm budget and desired menu style (buffet, plated, family-style) are crucial. They should also consider venue limitations, equipment needs (e.g., ovens, refrigeration), and any specific service requirements like bar service or on-site cooking. Clear communication about the event's timeline, including setup and breakdown, is essential for a smooth catering experience.
