We’re happy to provide a personalized quote—just let us know your guest count, preferred menu, and any special requests!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We aim to make things easy and enjoyable from the start. When a new client reaches out, we’ll ask a few simple questions about your event—guest count, type of food you're looking for, any dietary needs, and any special touches you'd like.
From there, we’ll send over a custom menu and quote that fits your vision and budget. Once everything’s confirmed, we take care of the rest—prep, delivery, setup (if needed), and making sure everything runs smoothly on the day of your event.
Whether it’s a casual lunch, a formal dinner, or something in between, we’re here to make it delicious and stress-free.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our chefs bring decades of hands-on experience in Mediterranean, Italian, and American cuisine—combined with a deep passion for hospitality. Estiatorio Plaka is rooted in family tradition, with recipes passed down through generations, and a strong foundation in restaurant and event service. We know how to serve high-quality food at scale, and we treat every event like it’s our own.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
We started as a family restaurant in the heart of Baltimore’s Greektown, with a mission to bring people together through fresh, flavorful food. Over time, our customers began asking us to cater for their events—and it grew from there.
In addition to Estiatorio Plaka, I’m also a proud part-owner of G&M Restaurant, known for serving some of Maryland’s best crab cakes for over 31 years. That same commitment to quality, flavor, and hospitality is what we bring to every catered event—whether it’s a small office lunch or a large celebration.
Now, we love sharing that experience outside of our restaurants and into your events, offices, and special occasions.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We’ve catered for everything from small office lunches to large weddings and corporate events. Our clients range from local businesses and non-profits to private families and event planners. Whether you’re hosting a business meeting, birthday party, holiday gathering, or neighborhood block party—we’re here to make sure the food impresses.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One recent project we’re really proud of was catering a corporate lunch event for about 75 guests at a tech company in Baltimore. They wanted a mix of Greek and American options—something a little different from the usual sandwich trays—so we put together a beautiful spread that included chicken souvlaki skewers, Greek salad, spanakopita, Maryland-style crab cake sliders, and a few vegetarian options.
We also added fresh-baked pastries and Greek desserts like baklava, which were a big hit.
From planning to delivery, the whole process took about a week—everything was customized to fit their team’s preferences and schedule. The client told us the food was the highlight of the day, and they’ve already booked us for their next event!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a caterer who’s not only skilled in the kitchen, but also easy to work with. Clear communication, flexibility, and attention to detail go a long way. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or request custom options—it’s your event, and a good caterer will tailor the experience to match your vision.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It helps to have an idea of:
Guest count (even an estimate)
Meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktail hour, etc.)
Style (buffet, plated, drop-off, finger foods, etc.)
Dietary restrictions or preferences
Budget range (we can often offer flexible options)
But even if you’re not sure yet—we’re happy to walk you through it and help you figure out what works best.
