Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
pricing will vary for custom orders, meaning food items outside of the scope of the menu outlined on the website and also in general due to the high level of inflation and food costs. I am not in position to create discounts at the moment.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
prospective clients submit an inquiry for catering services and receive a written proposal with 72 hours.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Before graduating from the Escoffier school of culinary arts, I was an at home cook. I have about 9+ years of culinary experiences, well versed in southern cuisine but have been learning about other cultures and its specialty food items. My creative insight is made up of a combination of the many areas of interest I had before finding my way to the kitchen, the arts, color, structure, which all play out in my dishes and how I present my food.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After a short lived joint venture, I decided that I was capable of catering to peoples needs in the area of food and beverage. I started and continued with my own project and have watched it grow into a lucrative business, now looking to expand.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with clients for all event types, small scale and large scale. Mostly known people, friends, family etc. I am trying to branch out and appeal to all audiences.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My first event of the year, a baby shower. The clients were very nice and allowed me to display my talents, which they and their guests were extremely happy with. It was a small event that took about 4 hours to execute.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Just to ask questions and get a clear understanding of what you are expecting and what you're going to be getting from the pro. Do not sign-off contracts or proposal unless you are 100% in agreement with what's presented to you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Customers should know or at least have an idea of the vision they want to create. Another thing to take into account is "what is my budget?" and find pros that fit that. Is my headcount accurate? This can get tricky and cause pros to overspend or budget for a number that is off. one last one is be sure to understand what it means for freshness of food and the type of food your asking for if the pro is not free to cook on-sight. Cooking certain foods ahead of time results in more work for the pro in terms of ensuring complete freshness of the menu item(s) so being clear on menu choices and the types of food that can be made ahead of time without compromising the integrity of the certain dishes is crucial.
