What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I’m Chef Madison, the heart and soul behind [Your Business Name]. My journey began at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, where I earned my Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts. Since then, I've spent over 14 years in the restaurant industry, working my way up through every position—from dishwasher to manager—which has given me a well-rounded understanding of every facet of the kitchen and service. With a focus on seasonal ingredients and a passion for culinary artistry, I bring both technique and creativity to each event. Whether I’m perfecting classic French techniques or experimenting with local flavors, my goal is to deliver dishes that are both delicious and memorable. I believe that great food starts with great experience, and I bring that experience to every event I cater.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My love for cooking began at a young age, in the kitchen with my mom and dad. I was always fascinated by the way food could bring people together and the joy that came from sharing a delicious meal. That spark turned into a lifelong passion, and by the time I was 15, I was working in the industry—doing everything from prepping vegetables to washing dishes. From there, my journey only grew. I was hooked by the energy of the kitchen, the creativity of cooking, and the satisfaction of crafting something that made people smile. I knew this was the path I was meant to follow. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, I spent 14 years honing my skills in various restaurant positions, from dishwasher to manager, before finally launching my own catering business. Cooking isn’t just my career—it’s my calling, my art, and my way of connecting with others. It’s a privilege to bring that passion to every event I cater, creating unforgettable meals that reflect the love and care that started in my own family’s kitchen.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients—from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations. I’ve catered at renowned wineries like Dry Comal Creek Vineyards and Yates Winery, providing high-end, tailored menus for guests enjoying the scenic beauty of the Hill Country. I’ve also had the unique opportunity to cater for massive music festivals like Float Fest, serving over 15,000 people with precision and care, ensuring that every guest has a memorable culinary experience. In addition, I love working with smaller, more personal gatherings—whether it’s a cozy family dinner, an anniversary celebration, or a private event where the focus is on creating a warm, intimate atmosphere. I am well-versed in handling a wide range of dietary restrictions, including gluten-free (Celiac-safe), vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-conscious requests. My goal is to ensure every guest has a delicious meal, regardless of their dietary needs. No matter the size or scope of the event, I bring the same level of dedication and passion to every service.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One recent project I’m particularly proud of was crafting a 12-course anniversary dinner that beautifully blended Japanese and Italian cuisines. It was a unique challenge, combining delicate, fresh flavors from Japan with the rich, hearty elements of Italy—a perfect representation of the couple’s shared love for both cultures. The preparation took several days, as I sourced fresh, high-quality ingredients and meticulously planned each course. From sushi with Italian influences to delicate pasta dishes paired with unexpected Japanese flavors, every detail had to be just right. The meal itself took 3.5 hours to serve, allowing guests to savor each course while pairing wines that complemented the flavors perfectly. The response from the couple and their guests was incredibly rewarding—they loved how the meal told a story, weaving two cuisines together in a way they had never experienced before. It was a labor of love and creativity, and it reminded me why I’m so passionate about custom menus that push boundaries and create lasting memories.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When it comes to hiring a catering provider for your event, the most important thing is to choose someone who makes you feel comfortable and who truly understands your vision. Your caterer should be someone you can trust to listen to your ideas, respect your preferences, and bring your culinary dreams to life. Here’s what to keep in mind when selecting a provider: Look for Customization: Your event is unique, and so should be the food. A good caterer will take the time to understand your tastes, dietary needs, and any special requests to create a menu that’s just right for you. Check Experience & Versatility: Catering for everything from intimate gatherings to large festivals requires a wide range of skills. Look for someone with a diverse portfolio of events who is comfortable handling your event size, style, and any specific dietary requirements (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, etc.). Communication is Key: Make sure your caterer is easy to talk to and willing to collaborate with you on the vision you have for your event. They should be open to feedback and flexible in their approach. Trust Your Instincts: Beyond the qualifications and experience, it’s crucial that you feel personally connected with the provider. You want someone who is genuinely passionate about food and who takes pride in the experience they create, not just the meal they serve. In the end, hiring a caterer is about finding a partner who will make the food experience as memorable as the event itself.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is the overall theme or vibe of the event? – Are you looking for a formal, elegant dinner, or a casual, fun, family-style gathering? Your catering should reflect the atmosphere you want to create. What is your budget? – Be realistic about how much you’re willing to spend. Catering costs can vary widely depending on the menu, number of guests, and special requirements, so knowing your budget helps a professional tailor options to fit your needs. How many guests are you expecting? – The number of guests will significantly impact the menu, staffing, and logistical details. Be clear on the size of the event and whether that number may change. Do you have any dietary restrictions or allergies to consider? – Make a list of any dietary needs such as gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, or allergies (e.g., nuts, shellfish). This will ensure the caterer can create a menu that works for everyone. What type of menu are you interested in? – Do you want a plated, multi-course dinner, a buffet, or perhaps something more interactive like food stations or a family-style spread? Do you have a cuisine or dish preferences (e.g., Southern comfort, Mediterranean, fusion)? What kind of service style do you envision? – Are you looking for waitstaff to serve the food, or would you prefer a more relaxed, self-serve situation? Consider whether you want plated courses, food stations, or family-style service. What are your logistical details? – Think about the venue size, kitchen availability (if applicable), and the timing of your event. Will you need rental items like plates, glassware, linens, or even additional staff? Are you open to suggestions or would you prefer a very specific menu? – Are you set on a certain menu, or are you open to the caterer’s professional suggestions based on what’s seasonal, available, or unique? What’s your timeline for the event? – Is there a specific date for your event, and how much lead time do you have? A professional will need to know how much time is available for menu planning, shopping, and preparation. Do you want wine pairings or specific drink options included? – Will you be offering wine, cocktails, or non-alcoholic beverages? Would you like the caterer to help with drink pairings or handle bar service?
