Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is determined by a few factors: 1. Size, primarily square feet. 2. Details, how intricate your piece is, takes more planning and time. 3. Products, I use quality supplies for quality work.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
first consultation covers the project planning, we go over inspiration, visualize the space. I'll be able to give a narrow cost estimate, and a small rendering of what I intend for the space. If we both agree on the rendering, I accept a 20% deposit, and the remaining 80% on final project delivery.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have many years of art classes and many projects in freelancing. I started painting as a hobby, and would assist friends and families with projects. I take classes online currently (covid) and I continue to challenge myself with new techniques and styles.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I painted on the walls as a child and was never stopped.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
ALL of them. From friends and family, to total strangers, from "not sure what I want, have at it" to "um, could we make some minor changes for my personal aesthetic?" from vague to super picky, I work with everyone. The initial planning consultation is so important so we can see how to make this project as smooth as possible and run with inspiration.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
If you look at my portfolio, you'll see a recent project, the Woodland path mural. I would love to do another piece like this. Everything about this; the client, the work space, the vision and inspiration.. everything about this project seemed like it was set up just for me. I thrive in many places, but ones that give me creative liberty AND small "hey do you think it would be cool if we could add_____" give me so much joy.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would say, "just contact the artist". So much of what we do is interpersonal. You can look at a portfolio all you want, but at the end of the day, you want a professional that is easy to work with, someone respectful of your time, money, and space. Meet your artist and get to know them and their vision.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
"What is your style of art?" "how long will this project take and what supplies will you bring?"
