Introduction

I am very particular! If there was no paint on your woodwork when I started your job, there will be not paint on the woodwork when I leave. All baseboards and door casings will be taped off and your floors protected. I will point out "previous" errors to you prior to starting your work. I do everything by hand for the most part, do the necessary prep work, and clean up after myself. I enjoy turning a room from something outdated or "used" into a nice clean, fresh look. I am fully insured.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is simple. I have done enough painting over the years to be able to tell how long each room will take me. No tape measures here. I take the time I estimate, what I need for labor, and multiply it out. Thumbtack makes giving estimates slightly more challenging. If you could let me know the room dimensions, and if you have ceilings higher than 8'. If the ceilings are to be painted, please let me know if they are vaulted or cathedral type. I like simple!!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I prefer to come out and take a look at the project. There seems to always be good and bad factors that can influence the bidding process. After I take a look, I take a few hours to think everything through and submit a bid.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started while I was in college to earn extra money. After graduating from college I went down to Texas and ran a painting business with my brother. I have pretty much just done side jobs over the years until I my "regular" job was eliminated at the end of 2013. I have always enjoyed painting and taking something that doesn't look too good and bringing life back into it.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I work for home owners, business owners, and property managers that are in need of interior painting.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I completely re-painted the entire interior of a house in Janesville. The house was a foreclosure and had been sitting vacant for about 2 years. The entire inside was filthy and dingy. When I finished the project, the house had no resemblance of what I originally walked into. It was spectacular and the owner is still doing backflips!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Get more than 1 bid and do some research on the person/business you are possibly going to hire. My goal is to get your job done in a timely manner, and make sure you are 100% satisfied.
