What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I usually charge by the hour. However I have a series of fixed fee pricing for common briefs such as Logo Design, Stationery, and have different monthly marketing packages for clients, depending up requirements. Estimated job pricing is given per specific job, once the brief has been defined.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The fundamental is personal service. Usually everything starts with a telephone conversation to ensure congeniality and that we can provide what the client requires. We also cover pricing expectations and time frames. This is then inevitably followed by a meeting where the project is discussed in detail. Everything is then confirmed in writing and the project is commenced. Briefs are broken down in stages which trigger project reviews, to ensure everything is agreed, is on track and the client is happy.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Constantly learning to stay up to date, utilizing the latest Adobe Creative suite. Web design and Social Media is progressing at such a rapid speed that if you don't remain abreast of technology, you get left behind!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

From an early age I had a flair for art and design. After attending College, University and graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, these skills have been developed and refined. In my professional life, running design studios, creating advertising and marketing solutions for hugely diverse clients, the combination of creativity combined with business effectiveness has never lost its appeal.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Logos, Branding, Corporate Identities and their implementation throughout business. Whether through electronic media, Web, Social Media, or through Printed Solutions such as Annual Reports, Brochures, Product Catalogs, Banners, Promotional campaigns, Post cards, Leaflets, Packaging, Product Design, development all the way through to Exhibition design and production. My aim is to provide a complete multi-disciplinary service. In essence to become integrated with the client in order to provide a Design & Marketing service as though it were within the client's own business. I always seek to help improve my client's company.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

As a multiple award winner, we have just been awarded the prestigious Graphic Design Award for the Web Design and production of the the Darcy Clarke psychotherapist website. This was part of a full branding strategy where we designed and branded all corporate materials from logo all the way through to web, signage, Presentations, events and general collateral. We now market Darcy Clarke on Social Media and SEO, as well as producing their video chats.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Sticking to budget and on time delivery is paramount. The design and marketing solution must always address the fundamentals of providing a complete answer to the brief. This can only be done by working closely with the design provider to ensure that even a simple brief solution maximizes its goals.
