Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Prices differ on food, serving style, staff, rentals, beverages and length of the event. We donadd a standard industry service fee of 18% but we also have discount opportunities.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Once we have contact with the client, we do an inquiry about all the detail their request consist of; food, rentals, staff style of service and length of event. Once I’ve gotten all the information needed I’ll write them a proposal/quote. I encourage the client to take a look at it and if they have any questions or concerns to not hesitate on contacting me to further assist them. Obviously I want their business, so based on their feed back I’ll revise the proposal /quote and resend.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a culinary graduate. I’ve been a chef for 20 years. I was an Executive Chef for some of top premier catering firm and companies in the Tri Star Area.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My dad had bars and restaurants in nyc. My mom also was an immigrant housewife which had to have dinner ready when my dad came from work. I was her helper. I worked in my dads businesses as a dishwasher, busboy, prep guy and a cook. They wanted me to go to college so I went to study political science which I loved but the kitchen is where I felt I wanted to be.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
My customers vary from small or big gathering or celebrations with a tight budget to very high end event.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
All my events have a distinct find memory. There’s events where we had to deal with the upmost unexpected circumstances to the the wry heart pleasing moments. The longest project I can remember was a wedding that the client hired me 2 years prior and I would talk/email or even text (yes, she would text me for any kind of questions) at least once or twice a month. The tension was mounting up as we got closer but all went so well.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Ask questions !!! Find out what kind of caterer they are. Look at their reviews on Yelp, Thumbtack or any other platform. See what kind food they provide ? Do they have pictures of their past projects ? Are they helpful in answering your questions.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask questions !!! Ask as many question you like. If you don’t understand the answer, ask again and again. Ask about food, staff, rentals, beverages, cost of things etc.. It’s a service that you are willing to pay and you as a client should know all the details before you make a decision. You should feel comfortable and confident when you decide a caterer. So ask as many question you like !!
