What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Cost of raw materials, marketing, Catering Kitchen, Chef Labor time, Server labor costs, insurance, mileage, water and energy resources used. We are transparent and quite reasonable with our pricing. We know the market prices of food/labor and charge fairly for our service based on 20 plus years of experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When you request a quote we use the information you have provided to give you a 'rough draft quote" and show you a quote we have provided for a similar project. We prefer to "talk to you or get an email from you" so we understand your wishes and can provide a custom quote taking into consideration your food preferences and budget. We take your requests very seriously because we know that you have a budget in mind. It costs for us to market through Thumbtack and we want to value your time and hope you value our talent and marketing resources by giving us a chance to talk and get to know you. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I apprenticed with Chef Sharon Shipley, Mon Cheri Catering and Cooking School for 7 years and have taught classes in both savory and pastries at Sur La Table. I've been a caterer and personal chef since 1997 and use the Internet, cook books, TV...hands on.. experimentation for my resources. I am very experienced in teaching cooking classes, and we have perfectly catered to top corporations and individuals in the San Antonio Area for 8 years. As a caterer in California, I started my business in Silicon Valley in 1997 and have been successful every since in this business.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I've been cooking since the age of 8. It is a God given talent. I met my professional mentor Chef Sharon Shipley in Sunnyvale, CA. She is now deceased but was a phenomenal Chef, Caterer, Teacher and Owner of Mon Cherie Catering and Cooking School. She was selected to cook for President Clinton and his entourage when he came to SFO Bay Area in the 90s. She was my MUSE and My good friend and I honor her.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Happy, loving, kind, generous humans of all makes and models....I/WE make them delicious food and they smile and love it. Feel free to read their remarks here on Thumbtack. Naturally there are a few who lost their fun chip and naturally we are human. We work hard to anticipate every possible scenario to avoid mishaps and being late. We are proven to be capable of dealing with something surprising (like a traffic jam) that comes up on the fly (which happens VERY infrequently).

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I/We have had the honor to be in the most intimate and private settings and privileged to cook for many families. We also deliver and serve private parties in private residences, corporations and event venues.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask and you shall receive the best service we have to give. Happy to provide local references. You can meet with us in person at our catering kitchen or we can meet at your venue. We can provide samples if you would like. It is always best to call us.
