Introduction

Hi, my name is Dan Thompson, I am the owner of Floors By Tomorrow. I have been in the real estate/remodel/flooring industry since 1990. My objective is simply to be the best flooring consultant and salesman I can possibly be, to help ALL my customers with their new flooring design and decisions. I pride myself in caring about all the different aspects of my customers decision making process. I honestly believe I can offer the best product:price ratio with the fastest installation availability in the market. I have met some of the coolest people in my business. I feel (almost) everyone wants a chance to be happy & thankful. I make it my personal mission to go above & beyond "good" customer service and leave my customers feeling so well informed and taken care of that they want to call me their personal flooring guy and refer me to their friends and neighbors. I believe that honor has to be earned!!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Standard Pricing - keep the costs as affordable as possible while maintaining the ability to keep a roof over my wife & kids heads!! :-) Edited AFTER the 2020 price increases: Carpet - $3.50 - $6/sqft Hardwood - $15-$20/sqft (unless you want exotics) Laminate / LVP - $7-$10/sqft All my final pricing is ALL INCLUSIVE. Which includes all standard tear out, haul away, floor prep, underlayment, moving furniture, material, install, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically, a customer will reach out with a want or need. We will talk on the phone for as long as they would like, then we will set up a time to meet and actually look at the project. I will answer as many or as few questions about the whole process as they have. We will look at the project, I will diagram and measure the project. Then we will look at a number of options, IE, price quality, availability. Many customers have thoroughly appreciated the options so they could make the best decision for them and their family.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
My Dad was a general contractor - I was raised in ALL aspects of remodel. In the 90's I was in the Army, College & Real Estate. 2000's - Now, I've owned my own property preservation & flooring company.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
That's a funny story actually ... I grew up watching my Dad break his back working his tail off to support the family. I decided in the 80's & 90's I would raise MY family using my brain (not my body) ... well, life being the finicky mistress she is, had other plans for me. Turns out I ended up with a great work ethic (which our millennials desperately need) and a driving desire to provide the best customer service imaginable. How did I get started? I feel like it started in utero and I have been developing it ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
OMGosh - all of them!! The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Well, there was the absolutely gorgeous marble fireplace. The $30K WHOLE HOUSE remodel. Honestly, I dig on the most recent - a guy calls me at 10pm (I am normally in bed at that hour), NEEDED carpet in the AM because family was coming. We met at 8am, ordered and delivered carpet/pad by 11am and had it all installed by 2pm (16 hours from call to completion). Granted it was a small(er) job and I'm not going to Cabo on the profits, but what a GREAT feeling!!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Call me and forget the rest!! (I am a business man after all)

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Budget & Timing. We are busy professionals, so if you are just looking for a price range to figure out your budget - that's cool - we all have to start that way - most of us are happy to talk on the phone and help you that way.
