How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Originally from Oklahoma, Carl moved to Kansas to start TrimLight Wichita. He lives in Derby with his wife Nicky and their three kids. Carl has years of construction experience starting when he was in high school. He spent the summers pouring concrete with his aunt and uncle. Fast forward to May 2013, he and his wife had their home destroyed in a tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. After a lengthy disagreement with the insurance company, Carl finally desided to take matters in his own hands and general contract (GC) the construction of his new home. After building their home back after the tornado Carl began building different rock and stone structures and even built a USP800 compliant compounding pharmacy. Since moving to Kansas, Carl started TrimLight Wichita. During installations Carl learned from his clients of the issues they were experiencing with other home service businesses. Failure in communication, poor service, and unacceptable quality of work. Now, Carl is on a mission to change the home service industry.

Verify Credentials and Local Experience: Ensure your contractor is licensed, insured, and experienced working in Wichita and the surrounding areas. Local expertise means they’re familiar with regional building codes, weather conditions, and any potential permitting requirements. Review Past Projects and References: Ask for a portfolio of previous work and speak with past clients. Local references can offer valuable insights into the contractor’s reliability, workmanship, and adherence to deadlines. Obtain Detailed Quotes and Contracts: Request comprehensive quotes from multiple contractors. Look for clear, written contracts that detail project timelines, materials, costs, and warranties. This transparency helps avoid misunderstandings and ensures all parties are aligned. Prioritize Communication and Professionalism: Choose a contractor who communicates clearly and promptly. A professional approach not only sets the tone for a smoother project but also ensures that any concerns or changes are addressed efficiently throughout the process.
