Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
- Our fees are based on three factors: Overhead costs, Labor rate, and the cost of materials. - With regards to discounts and fees, our combined experience of over thirty years has enabled us to receive the most competitive prices for materials other contractors would not be able to match. Such competitive offers equate to lower costs for our clients.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
- Every project begins with a visit from management. During the initial consultation, clients are able to address their concerns and propose the work they want to be done. - Following the initial consultation, clients will receive an estimate within 48 hours. - If the proposal is approved, construction will begin as soon as customer consent is obtained. - Each project is broken up into phases, during the onset and ending of any given phase, customers will be kept updated throughout the cycles of the project. - Following the conclusion of the project, management will follow up with the customer to address any concerns and additions the customer may seek to implement.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
- Terraform Construction was founded in NYC and is made up of members with a combined experience of over thirty years. Our time in construction has enabled us to master the principles of general contracting such that we are able to execute any given project in the most time and cost efficient manner. - Our experiences include work in carpentry, basement finishings, kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, doors & windows, drywall & painting, and hardwood flooring & tile work.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Terraform construction is a family owned business. Working alongside the founders and workers of the company we were exposed to the best practices in construction.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our customers are primarily residential homeowners from all economic backgrounds and age groups.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of our fondest memories involved working with a first-time homeowner for a large house. Over the course of five months, we completed a full interior remodel. Our interior remodeling included updating the entire electrical and plumbing structure of the house to meet DOB regulations. Furthermore, we completely gutted all the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen of the house in order to rebuild them to our clients specifications. This involved installing new drywall, paint, hardwood flooring, tiling, appliances, cabinets, countertops, backsplash, sinks, bathtubs, doors and windows. At the end, our client was satisfied with the timely completion of the full interior remodel and was able to successfully transition into his new home with his new family.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
- Our advice to prospective clients looking to hire a provider in our line of work is to never hesitate in asking questions relevant to the work to be done. Just as contractors utilize questions to determine the eligibility of a potential project, customers should also ask detailed questions to gauge the potential efficacy of the contractor. A contractors ability to answer rigorous and specific questions is telling of their background and skill set. - Does the bids offered make financial and logistical sense for the scope of the work ?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
- Does the scope of the project necessitate specialized workers? If so, what type of specialized workers would I need? - Is the current condition of the workplace violating or have the potential of violating any DOB regulations? - How much time do I have to complete the desired work? Or is the timeline flexible? - Assuming I am able to complete the work independently, can I complete the work within my desired time frame?
