Introduction

My name is David Brown. I do small to medium size landscape excavating projects. Projects like leveling, sloping, finish grading, topsoil delivery, lawn renovation, sod installation, parking area construction, drainage issues, foundation drainage systems, sump pump installation, gutter downspout drain pipe, concrete and asphalt removal, demolition of buildings, fences, decks, and more. I own my equipment to save any rental fees. I also do mulch installation. I offer the highest quality oak bark mulch available anywhere. My mulch is 100% oak bark, not composed yard waste. I take extreme pride in all of my mulch jobs, and your satisfaction is guaranteed no matter what size project you have. I also provide mulch in bulk for anyone that wants to install it themselves. I have 20 years experience, and I will be there doing the work. Not some inexperienced help. I hope to have the opportunity to help you with your next outdoor project. Estimates are always free, and thanks again for your interest. David Brown.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I am reasonable for sure. I have a lot of resources that can keep my expenses way down. For example I have a small farm where I am able to dump natural materials and have access to dry topsoil. I have my own straw for jobs that require it. I buy my fertilizer in large quantities and the best one is when I am done it's done right. This is sad but true, at least 50% of the work I do is fixing the work someone else just did. So that means pay for it once, all my work is guaranteed.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
There is nothing typical about an individual. I will work with the customer in whatever way works for them. I am available days, evenings and weekends.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Years of experience in excavation. I worked for a couple of mines and I also worked for the army corps of engineers being in charge of elevations and drainage. Plus I was raised on a farm and that gave me a lot of knowledge in talking care of land on a larger scale and learning to enjoy working.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Started running equipment young on our farm then went to work for a couple excavation companies including the army corps of engineers. I seemed to end up being the one in charge of elevations and grading. I spent quite a few years with some large companies and then went in business for myself.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked for all types of people. Doesn't matter the size of the budget most people like their homes to look nice, and I think it's fun to do that for them.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I am fond of the jobs I do when the people who I have done the work for are expressively happy. Doesn't have to be a big job.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
This is a big one. I wouldn't do business with someone who wants a bunch of money down. I never ask for money down. I get paid when the job is done and the costumer is happy.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Where do they get their mulch. Do you know where all of those brown paper sacks full of weeds and yard waste go? Yep, the composting facility. So do all of the trees and bushes that have died from disease. When you think about that you are bringing the seeds and roots from the weeds and the possibility of what killed the trees to your house. Have you ever had mulch done and have more weeds than ever before? My mulch is 100% oak bark that comes from a sawmill that only processes white oak to make whiskey barrels.
