What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

First of all, thank you for considering me to help you with your home improvements! I am grateful for your interest in my small business. My hourly rate is $40 per hour. I charge a minimum of two hours (or $80) to come to your house and work on any project. This includes a phone consultation so that I can get more details regarding your project & expectations, drive time to your location, and a quick stop to pick up any necessary items I might need on the way there. It's always easier when the customer has all the materials needed on site, however, I am able to pick up certain items, if it is discussed in advance. There is a 20% mark up for me to purchase and pick items on the customers behalf. Payment is expected on the day of service. You can pay with Stripe on the Thumbtack site or I can send an invoice via QuickBooks that accepts most types of payment.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Once I receive a booking request on Thumbtack, I'll call you to introduce myself and to get more information about your project/s. Based on our conversation, I'll give you an estimate on what I think the project will cost.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've recently renovated two houses. In the past, I've worked on projects like installing vinyl siding, flooring, and deck renovations. However, these days, I prefer to leave that to the younger generation, and stick to doing smaller projects and the things that I enjoy more, which include making living spaces more beautiful and organized. I'm passionate about cultivating beautiful outdoor spaces that include low maintenance design and native plants. Our bees, butterflies, birds and insects are diminishing, and I try to encourage people to incorporate Native plants into their outdoor spaces as a way to care for the little creatures. I've taken the Master Gardener course and am knowledgeable about native plants here in Missouri and love working on small landscaping projects. I love helping people organize and beautify their spaces. I have a knack for making people's homes cozier and more efficient.
