Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We price based on the project, there’s no straightforward way to estimate a job. We do our best to keep prices competitive but installing turf is a lot of work and something well worth paying a little extra for high quality installers.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We show up to the house for a free consultation and educational walk through to make sure the customer understands what goes into a good install. After that we will give you an estimate and if you’d like to move forward we ask for 50% down payment and the remaining 50% after the install is completed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We’re currently the only other installer in Utah that can install SYNLawn products. All of our guys been extensively trained by SYNLawn to meet their extremely strict installation requirements.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
We started this because we had been screwed over by contractors and had countless poor experiences dealing with people in this industry. Our goal is to not be the typical contractor and instead provide excellent customer experience and cultivate trust.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We work with everyone. We have 5 crews running installs 6 days a week. We guarantee that we will be the fastest to get you on the schedule and your project completed.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We did a 6,035 sqft project for a wedding venue down in Zion Utah at the RedRock Oasis & Villa. It took us an entire week due to weather complications. We had a deadline to meet so we put in a few 18 hour days to make it happen and we delivered on time despite the rock truck sliding off the road and a flash flood. I don’t think anything will ever be that difficult again.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
You absolutely need to make sure they have experience install artificial turf and not just landscaping. We often get calls to fix projects that have been installed wrong. Some things to ask them? 1.) How do you cut your seams (correct answer: S-Cut) 2.) What type of infill do you use and what microbial properties does it have? (We recommend envirofill) 3.) What type of cut are the blades? 4.) What is the product warranty and where do you source the product? (16 years is a good starting point, anything less is likely very low quality). 5.) What type of base are you going to use? (Crusher Fines or Blended Barrow are best, road base and leveling sand will lead to issues later down the road.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
The quality of the actual turf plays a large role in what your area will look like. Often times you’ll see lower prices but the longevity of the turf is 5 years vs 25 years. I also tell customers to make sure they add infill into their grass. This eliminates all odors including pet waste and helps the blades stay upright.
