Introduction

Hey! My name is Jacob and I've been doing photography almost 8 years. I specialize in weddings and engagement sessions but also do various other sessions. I shoot weddings with my wife Kris. We have a 2 .5 year old daughter and a 3 month old daughter. We love weddings of all types but smaller intimate weddings are our favorite.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
That my pricing is affordable in my opinion. I understand if it's out of your budget, I totally understand but if you are just absolutely in love with my style of photography and are having an outdoor or farm wedding, I may be willing to budge just a little.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I’ve been taking photos on a “real camera” for the last 9 years. Started doing weddings after a couple years and just kind of fell in love with the idea of capturing someone’s dream wedding and them enjoying the photos for years, decades and potentially centuries. Someone’s grandkids could cherish photos I took one of these days and that’s pretty cool to me.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I got curious about photography after my own wedding. Not exactly wedding photography but all types. Before I even got my first camera, I had watched hundreds of videos about photography and I sort of already knew what I was doing. After a few years of doing it for friends and family myself as a hobby I decided to try out wedding photography by shadowing a local pro. Bryan of Striegler Photography was kind enough to let me tag along and I fell in love with the excitement of wedding photography.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
spend time finding a photographer who’s body of work is what you are wanting. Paying a photographer 50 bucks for our wedding day and regretting it is what inspired me to start doing wedding photography in the first place.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What kind of images they want as their final product? Is our style what you are looking for?
