What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I've been a photographer and artist since I was in grade school. I've been a professional studio and event photographer since 1990.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Back in the 1980's, I started selling computer photography equipment for a company in NYC. After a couple of years I bought my own computer photography set-up, and started doing "Photo-Favors" at parties around the NYC Metropolitan area. I would take pictures of guests at parties and putting them into assorted frames, key chains, magnets, etc., for the guests to take home as a favor from the party. I also did many school and corporate events. My company was known as "The Party Animalz", and I had several crews of people working for me, and we did multiple parties every weekend around the Metropolitan area. Many clients liked my photos so much, they started asking if I did studio photography, because they wanted to hire me. In 1990 I took the plunge, and added studio and event photography to my business, and so "Don Laurence Photography" was born.
