What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Each job is different and has different problems that have to be solved. If it is a straight corporate headshot in the studio then the pricing is a standard rate. If it is a complex job that requires assistants and special equipment then the pricing for that is much different.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to gather information about the project and what the clients needs are. I then discuss how I can help the client get the end results that they want. I make sure we have that and then try to go further using all the creative tools that I have to produce an end product that exceeds the clients expectations.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attend workshops and trade seminars on the different software that I need to perform my job. I work on new and different photographic techniques to broaden my skill set.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been an artist for most of my life. I come from a family of artists so I think it is in my DNA. I went on my first photography shoot at ten years old and really loved being around a photographic studio.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with individuals, corporate clients, scientists, doctors and dentists. I photographed Senator John McCain at one corporate event as well as some CEO's.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I photographed a charity event where people repelled of a tall building in downtown Phoenix. I got to hang over the edge and photograph them as they repelled down the building. I was in a harness but it still was fun hanging half of me over the edge of a thirty story building.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Price alone should not determine your decision to hire a photographer. The images that are created will be used over and over to promote your business. Having great images that may cost a little more up front will work a lot harder for you than cheaply priced mediocre photography.
