Hi Guys! My name is T.J. and I am the Owner and Principal Photographer of T.J. Carter Photography. I'm a mama to my beautiful daughter and our rescue pup. And a wife to my stud husband! Before I became a professional photographer I worked in health care for 10 years. I worked with infants reshaping their little heads. In this field, I found my passion to work with families! I got to work especially close with babies and taking their pictures to help fix their heads. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and going to the beach. During the summer, I can't get enough Country concerts under my belt! Most of all, I have found a passion in capturing the best moments in life...You!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

All of my prices can be found on my website. Which is listed on the investment tab.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to start off by find out what type of photography session you are interested in (family, maternity, newborns, couples, engagements, proposals, wedding, headshots, content photos, etc). From there we’ll talk about your vision for the session, then nail down a date that works best for your schedule. We’ll also discuss location and I would love to help suggest locations from a list of my scouted locations; or choose one of your own! Then, I’ll confirm booking with an invoice/contract. Next, I help you with styling for your session my sending you a personalized style guide to help you look exactly how you want for your session! I’m here to help you with any questions every step of the way, and want to make this experience fun and stress free!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Let’s talk about all of the exciting mentorships I’m doing this year! MARCH: I’m doing a 3 week workshop from the amazing Sarah Cornish (myfourhensphotography). MAY: I’m doing a shoot out from the incredibly talented Shiloh Colleen (shilohcolleenphotography) JUNE: ✈️ to Alaska for a week to learn from two of my favorite photographers one on one! Lauren Samuels (laurensamuelsphoto) and Theresa Sherronn (theresasherronn). I can’t wait to see how much my love, knowledge, and skills in photography will evolve this year! And how that will come through in my work! So excited 🤩

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I’ve been taking pictures of infants for the past 10 years in healthcare. So taking photos has come so naturally to me, and I truly love capturing people’s greatest moments to save for years to come.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I’m a lifestyle photographer so I have worked with newborns all the way up great grandparents! And all the ages in between! I personally have a toddler myself, and know that little kids aren’t going to sit perfectly still for a photo, luckily that’s not my photography style! I’m here to make your experience fun and capture the true authentic moments. With couples photos! I love capturing your beautiful love story, and what makes each couple so unique! From silly to romantic! I also have done a lot of headshot and content photos for medical professionals and practices, as well as several law offices. If you or your business need to freshen up your headshots or need new marketing content photos, I’m available!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently took photos of a newly engaged couple! It was so beautiful to capture their love and brought me back to remembering when I planned my wedding. So fun!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Timeline is a great question. When are you looking to take these photos and is there a specific timeline that you need them by. I typically have a delivery time of 2-3 weeks, but can also do a rush delivery if you have a time sensitive project.
