Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
All quoted prices include: Continuous photographic coverage for the amount of hours needed. Hi-resolution JPEG files with print release (no water markings). Retouching & editing on all images. A private online photo gallery to share with friends and family. Travel & tax.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
• I prefer to start with a phone call to introduce myself, to assess your needs & expectations and to gather necessary info about the wedding/event/session. • After our initial conversation I will send a follow-up email that outlines your request - this email will also include a formal price quote and contract.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I truly believe an artistic eye and creativity cannot be taught in a classroom. I am proud to say I am totally self taught. I do hope my images speak for themselves.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I first began to explore my love of photography by documenting the street life in and around San Francisco. Candid photography is a true passion of mine and my "eye for the moment" I owe to the daily practice of observing and capturing the fleeting, artful happenings that ebb and flow around us everyday. Street photography naturally transitioned into photographing other dynamic environments such as weddings and events with the same approach as my candid street work. I feel this element of my portfolio is what sets me apart from other professional event and wedding photographers.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I predominately work with local private clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and Napa Valley, international corporate clients and local government agencies. I have worked with comedians such as Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell as well as large entities including Monotype, Benefit, L’Oreal, MOD Pizza, the Napa Valley Film Festival, Glynn Capital and Kaiser Permanente. I have also worked with local, state and national government entities including the Department of Emergency Management, U.S. Navy, the San Francisco Fire Department, American Medical Response & King American Ambulance as a documentary and emergency scene photographer.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was commissioned by the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management in 2017 to photograph EMT's & Paramedics working on emergency 911 calls in the field. The project took place over several weeks with the aim to highlight the demanding and tireless efforts of EMS professionals working in one of the busiest 911 systems in the country.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always be sure to look at a photographer’s complete portfolio. Seeing an artists complete portfolio will allow you to better assess their skill level, consistency of work, and ability to complete your project to meet your expectations.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
First, consider the style of photography you are looking for. Posed/candid? Color/B&W? Artistic/traditional? Edgy/Classic? How much time will be needed to complete your project (hours, days, weeks, etc)?
