Introduction

Hi there! First, I encourage to go to my website and my Pixieset galleries, which can be found by clicking on SHOP in the header of paulvroomphotography.com. I'm glad you're taking the time to read this. If you're going to entrust your memories to someone it only makes sense to learn about them. Also, having a memorable experience and getting the best value for your time and money is important to you, right? I respect that because I want the same. Connecting, collaborating, and creating excellence in imagery is my passion and my commitment. I will do whatever is within my power to provide my clients with a memorable customer service experience and with images that illicit a "Yes!", “Nice!”, or “Thank you!”. Getting those images to you in the agreed upon time frame is also my commitment. I've been shooting professionally for twelve years and at the end of 2022 decided to officially hang my own shingle, PV Photography LLC. I’m a member of the Professional Photographers of America association, the world’s oldest and largest non-profit org for and by photographers and I hold a CPP (Certified Professional Photographer) designation with them, which means I passed a rigorous test and image submissions process. Since then I've been hired by commercial contractors to shoot their architecture, actors to shoot their headshots, businesses to shoot their products and so on. I was invited to show my work in a gallery this past August and in September won the annual photography contest for the California Welcome Centers. My work can be seen in the Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree Welcome Center for the next year. What sets me apart is 30 years in the entertainment industry in front of and behind the camera. I worked as an actor, writer, live show director, and performance coach for 25 years and l learned innumerable lessons from that, which positively translate to my photography and to how I run my business. I’m known for my ability to empathetically connect with others and for the effort I put into my work. My prices are fair and competitive. I love what I do and am passionate about providing you the best experience posdible. Deliverables: - - Your images will be uploaded to my client gallery on Pixieset and I’ll provide you with a private link that allows to view and choose the images you like. - You can receive digital files, prints, or a thumb drive of your images. The amount you receive for free depends on our contract but I want you to be happy so there is some flexibility. - For every hour I shoot I will spend that same amount of time or more on editing to provide you with the best images possible. - Lastly, I come prepared with at least two cameras, multiple lenses and lighting equipment as necessary depending on the project and your/our vision.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
That I'm worth what I ask for and I price myself competitively. There are cheaper options and more expensive options. I work hard and will go the extra mile to ensure you get your money's worth. First time customers for the month of December get a 15% discount off any service.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First is a call or meet up depending on what is needed for the project. I'm a people person and a communicator so I like to discuss and brainstorm if called for. Questions to clarify your wants, desires, and vision. Once booked, sign a contract, clarify details and solidify the shoot particulars. Have fun on the shoot, continue to listen and collaborate and share some of the work during the shoot to ensure we're on the same page then comes post production.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) earned from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the world's oldest and largest non-profit organization by and for photographers.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
It began in high school when I was an editor and photographer for our yearbook. I learned the old school, 35mm way and learned to develop and print my own photos. Fast forward a lot of time to 2010 when I bought my first Nikon. Thirteen years later I started PV Photography LLC.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with businesses seeking product photography, with actors, directors and producers and shot BTS photography. I have worked with contractors seeking images of their commercial work. I have worked with professionals seeking headshots, actors seeking headshots, and people seeking portrait and family portraiture. I have also worked with people who want pet photography.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was hired by an older actor who wanted a shoot that not only provided new headshots but also wanted to capture images of his many sides. It was like jazz and we just riffed off each other. We plumbed the depths of grief to bursts of laughter and joy.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Be willing to collaborate and be willing to communicate clearly your vision and desires. Be diligent in your research and be willing to pay a bit more than you think is called for. There are lots of shooters who undercut to get the gig but you get what you pay for.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is the vision? What deliverables would you want, i.e. prints, digital files, storage device, etc? What should I bring? Where will we shoot? How much time will this take? If it's portraiture or headshots, do you provide creative suggestions? I could go on but a phone call and a conversation with someone like me who loves to create and collaborate will do the trick.
