What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I will customize my services and prices to work within peoples budgets and offer a discounted rate to non-profits.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First we have an initial phone call to discuss the clients request. Then we either meet in person or decide upon logistic and services over the phone and email. I tend to customize my offerings and can offer a sliding scale pricing system as needed. Once the session/event is photographed, I bring the images back to the studio and edit to perfection. Then I post images on a private gallery for downloading and purchasing prints. Custom albums, books and print packages are also available.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BS in Photography from RIT and a MS in Environmental Education from Leslie College. My first photography job was over 25 years ago as a wedding assistant. Since then, I have shot almost all genres of requests and have taught photography in schools, nature centers, and private groups. I am continuously taking classes and workshops to perfect my skills and technique.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I fell in love with the photographic image while reading my Grandfather's National Geographic magazines as a young child. I instantly knew that this would be my purpose in life. Although I have not shot for NG, I have been blessed to do my dream on a daily basis. I went to RIT for photography in the early 90's and have been taking photos professionally ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

My portfolio is broad, but I specialize in capturing people's most treasured events in life. Being there for their most memorable moments fills my heart with purpose and pride. My clients cross all sectors: Corporate, non-profits, weddings, families, children of all ages, seniors, couples, pets and products. I specialize in outdoor and on-location shoots as well as offer a private studio for portraits and products. Plus, check out my green screen imagination station photos- great for families and head shots so you can choose the backgrounds that match your spirit and photo needs.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I just completed a 8 year photo album of a clients that I have been taking since their youngest was in diapers. It was so great to have been able to follow their growth throughout their young lives and capture them doing things that they love along the way.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Go with your heart. If your heart feels a connection looking at someone's work, most likely you will get similar results with your photo requests. Personally, I love customizing my style to match the needs of my clients.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

How much training and years of professional experience do they have? (KSP-25yrs) What is their work and style like? (KSP-Creative Realism - natural, heartfelt and creative.) Does their work trigger any emotional responses in me? (KSP- that is my goal) Will their personality work well with my family, event, corporate team, etc? (KSP- a people person through and through) Is their pricing reasonable for their experience and products? (KSP- work is priceless- investment is very reasonable.)
