Introduction

My name is Mo Roberts, and I am the owner and photographer of "Mo Roberts Photography". I have been passionate about photography since I was a child growing up in Africa. My passion for photography was reignited after the birth of my daughters. As a doting dad, I wanted to capture as much of their lives as I can. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and photographing thousands of people in various settings. Although based in Northwest Florida, I do travel for my work. I have photographed clients in various states in the United States and in Africa. The experience and privilege of capturing and memorializing my clients’ lives brings me immense joy that I cannot adequately articulate. Photography has allowed me a space where I can be creative while bringing joy to others. Notwithstanding the number of weddings, engagements, portraits, family and other sessions I have photographed, I am humbled and flattered that you are considering me to capture your life’s event. It is a true privilege. I created this space to share my passion for photography with others and as a means to collaborate and create art together. Thank you for considering me for your photography needs. It would be my pleasure to capture and memorialize you and/or your family's life event. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and photograph you and your family/loved ones.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing depends on the duration, time, place, location of the session and any special request that the customer may have. I often offer discounts to veterans/current service members, nurses, educators, law enforcement officers, fire fighters and civil servants.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
As a small-business owner, customer experience and satisfaction are of utmost importance to me. I like to get to know my clients because doing so helps me meet and exceed their needs. So I'll call my clients, introduce myself, ask about their "vision" about the session, exchange ideas and assure them that their "vision" will be realized.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have photographed thousands of people in various settings over the years. I am a self taught and passionate photographer.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After the birth of my first daughter, I wanted to document her growth and "milestones", as much as possible. So I picked up my first semi-pro camera, the Nikon D5200 and took pictures of her whenever I could. I also used that opportunity to learn the "art of photography" and how to tell a story through photography. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and photographing thousands of people in various settings. My knowledge and passion for photography has continued to grow over the years.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with brides/grooms, engaged couples, families, other professionals, birthday parties, expecting parents, corporate clients, graduating seniors, models, business owners etc.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was hired to photograph a wedding in Laurel Hill, Florida. The wedding was between a Navy Officer and a Nursing Student, both of whom attended my alma mater, Florida State University. The wedding was fun, exciting and I was honored to have been asked to capture and memorialize their wedding. The wedding lasted about 6 hours.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look at the photographer's work, reviews and most importantly, talk to the photographer, let him/her know what you're looking for and inquire if they will be able to exceed your needs. There's a lot more to photography than the taking and editing of pictures. It is an art form that requires attention to details, communication, imagination, creativity and visualization (amongst other). Also, remember that cost does not mean value. The fact that one photographer's services costs less than another's does not necessarily mean that the less expensive photographer's services are more valuable or reasonable. Instead, the quality of work, reviews, communication, accessibility, efficiency (turn around time) and the experience of working with a Photographer should be considered when deliberating which photographer to hire for your photography needs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. What is their editing style? 2. What is the cost of their services? 3. What does their cost cover? 4. How well do they communicate with their clients? 5. How soon will the customer get his/her pictures back and how will the pictures be delivered? 6. What do former customers say about their experiences working with the photographer.
