My pricing usually averages around $250-$300/hour but it differs depending on travel distance, type of shoot, the event, and customer budget. My portrait sessions start at $350/hr for maternity, engagement, family and solo sessions.

For me it's all about capturing the customers idea in the best possible way and working with their budget. I usually discuss the time and location of the event or shoot first and then based on that I will give my estimated quote. Once that is done, we usually discuss the theme and the ideas we both have until we come to the perfect one! For my recent maternity shoot, I remember helping the momma to be pick out her gown via messages and email and we decided on some poses she would love and props! I want to engage the customer completely so they feel like they are a huge part of the shoot and be able to have some fun! I know how awkward it is posing for a stranger, so I try to get that awkwardness out of the way as soon as possible.

I've always loved capturing images and I wanted to be able to capture people in a way that makes them look beautiful but still very natural.

I would advise to look at the style of the photographer, the way they capture images and if that is in line with what you like. For instance, I personally like to capture colorful natural images without them being overly posed!
