What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I give 10% discount for recurring business. I also give referral bonuses if I’m hired. Make sure you tell them to use your name for the referral :)

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to have a conversation with the client so I know how comfortable they are in front of the camera or the scope of the project. Learn expectations and what they need from the session. If they have certain preferences it’s best to get these upfront so I can be more prepared going into the shoot.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Really started when my son was born. My wife wanted professional photos almost monthly and was getting expensive so I had technical background with programs and a creative edge for photos with my phone so decided to get my first DSLR. My wife gets professional pictures whenever she wants now.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Family, friends, kids, babies, businesses, realtors, weddings, etc

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Had a lifestyle shoot and do a lot of those for families. I send digital copies so I provide a sneak peak within 24 hrs and about 48 hours for the entire session.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It’s really helpful you be as detailed as possible about what you are looking for with examples. No one knows what you have in mind except you, and the more descriptive and precise you are the better I can accommodate to your needs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

See if the requirement of your session requires two shooters. Especially with weddings or bigger events. I do have another shooter who I work with for big projects. Also, most people are not comfortable with taking photos so find a photographer who can help make it easy for you. What I love about photography is it’s totally a perception varied art. There are certain aspects to an to consider and it’s up to the client to decide if I’m the right fit.
