Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing is determined based on mainly how long the event will be. This will provide me with an idea of the effort, editing, and contributions that must be made in order to provide a desired product.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When working with a new customer, I will do a virtual meeting (either by phone, web conference, or email exchange) to understand what you need. Then we will discuss your budget and negotiate pricing if necessary. Once pricing is set, I will provide a list of what your creative service package will include.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I attended the Herron School of Art & Design with a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications Design. During my study, I studied photography and worked professionally with my school on capturing images for their events. I have also worked with the Indianapolis Metropolitan High School basketball team to capture the players.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started doing photography during my sophomore year of college. I needed volunteer experience in order to maintain a scholarship. I decided to volunteer my photography work because I wanted to do something that was creative-related. When the communications director of my school saw my work, she hired me on the spot. Because of this, this drove my career down a different path. I was planning to be a graphic designer, but I am now a professional photographer since the day she hired me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I worked with all kinds of customers! I have worked with families, companies, bars, schools, colleges, and nonprofit organizations. The name of the game for Impackful is that if there is an impactful event that needs to be captured, then it will be captured beautifully by me.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
The recent project that I enjoyed was an annual cocktail competition held in Cincinnati. This was where the best of the best bartenders competed against each other in challenges that tested their bartending skills. It was the most unique experience that I have had. The vibes were amazing, the bartenders were energetic, and the people were supportive and kind. This project only took three days to complete from shooting to the finished photos. However, it was one of the best times of my life as a photographer.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Connect with the potential photographer! I believe always call my clients to gain a sense as to what kind of client I am working with. Therefore, if I am working with someone who is down to earth, then I will work with them like I am working with one of my friends. However, if I am working with someone who is more professional and straightforward, then I will adapt to that same tone. Apply this to your photographer except you are looking for a photographer that has the right tone. This means finding a photographer that matches your energy, and personality, or if would be able to get along with them well. If you looking for a photographer that is more exciting and energetic (like me!), then book that kind of photographer. This is why calling the photographer is important so you can see if you would be able to work with this photographer well.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I have some questions that should be kept in mind. Before going to any photographer, think about these questions: - Does this photographer's style of editing match what I desire from my photos? - When checking more about the photographer, does the photographer seem like the kind of person I would love to work with? - When looking at negative reviews, how does the photographer respond to negative feedback? - Am I serious about my project enough to be responsive? - Will I respect the professional's time by providing clear answers, responsive messages, and helpful information?
