Introduction

My sessions are very laid back and casual, with very little pressure. I know how crazy and stressful it can be with children and getting everyone ready, as well as pressure moms are under to have the family all clean and looking their best. I am here to help you relax and just enjoy our hour together. I will help you in outfit selection and deciding a color scheme. Because I thrive on chaos and love being playful, I can help take the pressure and stress off of moms to keep children calm and collected. The more we play and laugh, the better your images will be. I love to capture playing and motion of children as well as big gummy smiles from babies. We will focus on getting the typical smiling poses, but also spend a lot of time with candid photos and genuine interaction. My favorite thing is to direct and create a playful environment where children can be themselves and enjoy their time in front of a camera instead of being shy and intimidated by me. I've found that when I'm able to play and connect to the children, they forget about the scary camera and just have fun! I am available for all of your life's little moments. Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

All sessions start at $400 and have a mixture of prints and digital images. I will deliver proofs where you will then pick out your favorite images for your package. Single images are available ala cart, or you can upgrade to have all images in your gallery for 20% off. Attached to the final gallery is a print store where you can find professionally printed products. Included in any package is a style guide as well as one-on-one help if you need. I want to design and create your dream session, whether it is a family session, mom and me, couples, maternity or pets! Weddings start at $1,000 for elopements and go to $4,000 for a full, 8 hour day with a second shooter. All wedding packages have prints and digital images, as well as a customized wooden box with an engraved USB drive.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I am as active in the planning of the session as you want me to be! After booking, I send a multi-page style guide to help you plan your looks for the day. I have lots of locations I use, or if you'd prefer to go somewhere sentimental (maybe your new home you just bought?) I love shooting in new places!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was raised with photography in my bones; my father was a professional photographer. I took classes in high school and college, but didn't take it seriously until 2018. After I fell in love with photography, I've been on a mission to hone my craft and have taken countless online classes, read a million books and listened to so many podcasts. Art is something that is constantly evolving and you're always improving. I'm so passionate about creating beautiful images for my clients, sometimes I feel my life revolves around my art. That's amazing and just how I want it!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I found photography in 2018 after a car accident. After my accident I was diagnosed with a lifelong mental health disorder and could no longer work in my previous field. I became the assistant of one of my photography idols and began learning photography basics with her. I dove into learning and exploring headfirst and took my camera with me everywhere I went. I became obsessed with documenting life and relationships between people. It is my honor and great gift in life to be able to help create little moments and then capture them forever. Especially given the crazy times we live in, you never know when a photograph will be such a treasured memory. Most everyone has lost someone close to them recently, so it is so important to me to capture both the pets and family in your life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I love any and all types of families! I am an ally and love my LGBTQIA+ families and couples. My BIPOC families are equally important to me; I have POC members of my own family.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Advice for hiring a photographer would be to do your homework and look at their portfolio! You will get an idea of how your images will turn out if you do so. Some events can't be replicated, like weddings, so it is very important to be able to trust your photographer. Talk to them and ask them as many questions as you have, that's what we are here for! Every photographer's style is different, so be sure to look and see if their artistic vision aligns with your own.
