Take a good look at the photographers work and ask a lot about what they do for lighting and who they have worked for, as far as, real companies.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Know what you need to shoot. Know realistically how many shots you need. Know your Budget. Know what commercial photography cost. Know what retouching and color correction cost. Get several estimates
