What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each and every customer comes in with unique needs and desires. I work with you to establish a personalized proposal that will cater to you and your ideal photography experience.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you join my books, I will send you a welcome email with a questionnaire for me to get to know their needs more. After this, I love to hop on a consultation call to get to know you better and have some planning time. Depending if you are booking a wedding or portrait session, the rest of the process will look different. I am all about hospitable service, and clear communication. I will work to make sure we are a good fit, and if not, I am happy to refer you to other photographers who may work better with you!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have spent over 100 hours in professional development and training throughout my career. Starting out as an editorial assistant for a luxury photographer, I learned this from the best of the best. I strive for excellence and hospitality in all I do, and love to welcome you into my process.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 2019, I made a wild decision to step away from my day job and become a student again kind of . . . I became an assistant to a luxury photographer. As someone who is a classically trained musician, I was able to blend these two passions into art. After a lifelong passion and hobby of photography, I decided to pursue it as a career, and haven't looked back since!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Over the past five years, I have worked in over 6 countries, with hundreds of people, and many couples. From large family portraits in the Netherlands to romantic couples sessions on the beaches of Scotland, to engagement sessions on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I have worked with incredible people from so many backgrounds. Each and every project was a gift!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
My session with K & E on the parkway this year was simply magical. They were in town and had recently gotten engaged, but hadn't had portraits. We connected, and it was serendipitous. We laughed, we cried, and they were just incredible. I had their pictures back to them is less than two weeks, after a session of over 2 hours up in the hills.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Each photographer has their essence, niche and presence. Spend some time looking online at different friends' photographs, pinterest photographs or photographers' pages on thumbtack. Find two or three styles, presences, niches or essences you like and reach out to photographers who match those styles.
There are so many wonderful artists, but we aren't all for everybody. There is someone just for you, so don't miss out on your chance to find them!
For example, I am a true to color, bright, fine art, film inspired photographer who uses a mix of posed and narrative style photography to build a full story board of our time together. I bring a warm, joyful, and authentic presence and won't shy away from helping you look your best on camera.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What type of personality do you like working with? - I am energetic, directive, and caring. I bring a warm and delightful energy to my shoots. For someone who wants to come have their picture taken then leave, I am not your gal. If you want to have a fun day, leave feeling confident and brave, while knowing I've got the best intentions when taking your pictures - I am your girl!
What style of pictures have you liked on Pinterest or on friends socials? - I am a true to color photographer, who gets her inspiration from seaside towns, romantic era artwork, and Joe Wright's film design. I love soft warm and true color balance.
How much involvement do you want in the process? - I am a collaborative queen. I want to hear your desires, and help use my expertise to make them a reality. I will use my years of industry experience to provide you with and experience that will end up in your dream result, while having a memorable time to boot! For some photographers, they like to tell you what to do, how to do it, and have complete control. If you like that, I am not your gal!
