Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My prices are not based on the work itself, they are based on the quality of the results. You will find many photographers that will charge less than me. Any photographer can take pictures. You pay someone more to deliver high quality images.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Ideally, we will speak in person or over the phone, and I like to get to identify what my customers are looking to get out of their photo session. We will stay in touch up through and after the photo session until my client is satisfied.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
15 years of professional photography on top of 20 yrs of hobby photography.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Other parents loved the photos I took of my own children and I started getting requests to take other families' photos. All of my growth has been organic.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with motivated professionals looking to invest in themselves, loving parents looking to capture amazing images of their children, and companies looking to separate themselves from the competition by obtaining the highest quality images available.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Shot an entire season of high-school baseball games with the objective of building photo books for coaches and individual players. It was very time-consuming to get all of the right shots to use in the books, and the design and finalization took many late nights. In the end, the team had their perfect gift for their coaches and parents had fantastic memories of their kids.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Cheap, does not equal good. There could be many reasons why a photographer does not charge a lot of money for a photo session. Most of the time, it comes down to lack of experience and quality output.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Style, personality, experience, and portfolio. You can quickly look through a photographer's portfolio to see proof of their quality. They will either look like photos you could take yourself, or photos that you could never hope to get without hiring a professional.
