Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing reflects the complexity of your project. It takes into account the time to photograph and the time and effort in post production to get the best outcome for your project. I will offer the most competitive pricing I can for the high quality work that I deliver. Each project needs to be bid on there is no one price fits all projects.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When I get a request for my services I like to discuss the project before I offer a price for my services. I like to discuss shot lists and customer expectations. Communication is the best way to make sure my customers are happy and will use me again or refer me to their clients.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a degree in photography from Utah State University. I have attended the Palm Springs Photography Festival for the last three years. My workshops include Architectural and high end corporate portraiture. The instructors for my workshops have been some of the best photographers in their field. These are weeklong workshops with intense study.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was born into a family of artists. My father was head of advertising for a medical device manufacturer. I was exposed to photography at a young age taking my first classes in 8th grade. This led to my career in photography which has been a great passion for most of my life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked for many different types of customers. My interests range from architectural photography to corporate portraits. I have photographed corporate ceo's, United States Senators, CNN celebrities and many things in between.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently photographed the pedestrian bridge on Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd. This was final images for Whiting Turner Construction and the shots came out fantastic. It was really fun to have such a vibrant background to work with.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would check out the quality of work the photographer delivers. Price alone should not decide your choice of photographer. You will use the images for a longer period of time than you think so you want really good images to represent your company.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
A customer should have an idea of what their needs are. The should know what the scope of work is at least a general idea. The scope of work will probably change but knowing the basics will help you and the photographer come up with price that will close to what you want to spend.
