Introduction

-- PLEASE READ -- Thumbtack is a great way to connect professionals and clients! However, Thumbtack charges us a significant fee as soon as you check our availability. If you are able to check profiles, reviews, portfolios, prices, etc., and only contact only the pro that you feel fits your needs best, it would be greatly appreciated. Samples of my work are displayed on my portfolio website and on my profile as well. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Thank you! -- ABOUT ME -- Hi, my name is Kurtis LeMay! I also work on various photo and video projects on the side to ensure that my skills can fit any need! I have been a self taught photographer ever since I took an introduction to photography class at the University of Nevada, Reno. My main goal is to make the photography process as simple and meaningful as possible. I look forward to working with you!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is quoted by the individual job and I do not charge hourly rates. This allows me to focus on producing the best photography and to take as much time as necessary to get a quality result without making anyone feel rushed.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My process starts with a Thumbtack message, an email, or a call depending on my client's needs. I then discuss details from locations/addresses as well dates and times and if the client has any other questions about the process. I also discuss any extra details for the specific project with the client.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have taken photography classes at the University of Nevada, Reno as well as several online courses to perfect my photography skills. I have also had training for the FAA Part 107 license which was completed as an online course. Photography is something that I have generally taught myself in addition to having small amounts of formal training. Much of the knowledge I have gained has come from my practical experience in the field.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I originally got started doing photography work because photography was one of my favorite hobbies for a long time. I was introduced to manual photography at the University of Nevada, Reno and have been working on my skills commercially ever since. I also have a love for aviation and drone photography was something that I explored very early in my photography career.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with customers in several areas of photography such as family, portrait, commercial, real estate, product, aerial, and more. I also work with video production. I am constantly expanding my skills and reaching out to new areas of photography whenever I am given the opportunity to learn something new.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent project I am fond of is a condo I photographed in Blairsden Graeagle. I had the opportunity to take aerial photos of a golf course in a gorgeous neighborhood surrounded by wildlife, mountains, and lots of green grass. This shoot was one I traveled to a new area for and it was very fun exploring and getting unique photos for my portfolio. The shoot took around 1 hour to complete and I had the edited photos delivered the next morning.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find a professional who has experience, pays attention to detail, and will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with all aspects of the service.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Clients should think about what kind of photographer would suit their project best, whether it be a portrait photographer, real estate photographer, or other type of photographer and try to contact someone who specializes in that field. They should also try to find examples of photography they like to show to their photographers as an idea of what they are looking for so their goal can be communicated as effectively as possible.
