Introduction

My clients are most attracted to my authentic and unique portraiture style, which is cultivated by my photojournalist roots. I enjoy capturing authentic moments that transpire naturally in the presence of authentic people. Reflecting back to my earliest childhood memories, I guess I have always been a photographer at heart. Growing up in a household as one of 6 children with only one income, we often struggled financially. As a result, taking photographs wasn’t on the list of priorities for my parents and so many of the memories lost to recollection, are lost forever. My social status is “Butterfly.” When I am not shooting professionally, I am most definitely either at church or at one of my 3 kids’ competitive sporting events. We are your typical all sports family and I am most certainly the coolest minivan mom you’ll ever see. I have been an athlete and sports fanatic all my life. I come from a very athletic family, excelling in a variety of school sports. In college, I studied sports medicine and worked with college athletes in multiple division I sports. With my obvious, but slight, obsession with sports, it isn’t much of a surprise that I, also, moonlight as a sports photographer, shooting action photographs for various youth sporting events and creating “Tricked Out” digital graphic products.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We accept cash, personal checks and all major credit cards. 50% of the package price is due at the time of booking and is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to portrait sessions and 30 days prior to weddings.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Contact us by phone or email to book an appointment for a free consultation. The photo shoot will generally take place two weeks to a month after that, depending on your schedule, our availability and how much planning is involved. We may consider a last minute booking on a case-by-case basis but do not guarantee our availability. We are generally available Monday-Saturday morning and afternoon, but with enough notice we can work with your schedule.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been shooting professionally for almost 10 years now. My experience is based on a culmination of professional photography workshops, seminars, and professional memberships.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My interest in photography began in high school, sparked by my desire to capture and capsulate all of the greatest moments that I experienced both athletically and socially. In college I transitioned from being the girl with the polaroid (yes, I had a polaroid camera) to purchasing my first SLR and transitioning into a professional hobbyist. This is where my photojournalistic style of taking pictures began to flourish and capturing light became an unspoken guilty pleasure. As my work began to evolve, I started to hone my craft by shooting pro bono events for family and friends. This was definitely the catalyst to catapult me into shooting professionally in 2011.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have been blessed to work with a variety of clients. Typically my clients are residential families looking for family and senior portraits, wedding and event photography or sports photographs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

From the calls we receive at the studio we know that price is one of the top considerations folks have when choosing a photographer but not usually the only one. We believe that choosing a portrait photographer solely based on the cost may lead to disappointment.
