Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My minimum session time is 1 hour and I book in hour-long blocks. Pricing varies depending on the type of photography you’re booking—event photography is priced higher than a solo portrait session, for example. You can see the exact rates for each type of session by selecting the session type and clicking “View Price Details", or by visiting my website.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When you book a session with me, we start with a short questionnaire—I like to get to know the person on the other side of the lens. It helps me create photos that reflect your personality rather than just taking pictures. Once we confirm a date, I’ll send over a standard contract covering rescheduling, cancellations, payment, and other details. From there we wait for shoot day! After the session, your final images are delivered within 7 days for shoots under 3 hours.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I’ve been passionate about photography for over 20 years, capturing moments and refining my skills along the way. Over the past two years, I’ve been seriously dedicating myself to mastering the craft, focusing on both technical expertise and creative expression. In 2022, I gained professional experience working with CADY, a well-respected photography company based in Charlotte, where I honed my skills in capturing high-quality images and delivering an exceptional client experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’ve been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember. There’s something magical about freezing time and telling a story through a single moment. Over the years my passion has only grown, and few things bring me more joy than the thought of turning doing what I love into a career. Photography isn’t just a job for me—it drives my creativity and fuels my desire to connect with people and their unique stories.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, from families and couples to business professionals. I’ve also covered events, including corporate gatherings, social meetups, and community celebrations. My experience extends to models and creatives looking for editorial-style imagery, as well as brands and small businesses that need compelling product and lifestyle photography. No matter the client, I focus on authenticity and delivering high-quality images that reflect their unique story.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Photographing the Tucker Kirby holiday party was a fantastic experience. The event was filled with warmth, laughter, and plenty of candid moments that captured the season's joy. I focused on documenting the lively interactions, festive decor, and unique details that made the celebration special. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase my event photography skills, ensuring the company had memorable images to reflect the spirit of their gathering. The event lasted for about 3 hours and the editing was finished within a week.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
1. Review Portfolios: Make sure the photographer’s style matches your vision. Their past work will give you an idea of what to expect. 2. Communicate Clearly: Share your goals, preferred style, and any must-have shots to ensure you’re both on the same page. 3. Plan Ahead: Book early to secure your date and discuss timelines for receiving the final images. Quality photography takes time!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. What’s the purpose of this photoshoot, and how do you plan to use the photos? (e.g., personal portraits, family photos, professional headshots, event, etc.) 2. Do you have a specific theme, mood, or style in mind for the shoot? (Share any examples or inspiration they like, if applicable.) 3. What colors or outfits do you plan to wear, and are there any wardrobe guidelines you’d like to follow? 4. Have you had professional photos taken before? If so, what did you like or dislike about the experience? 5. Are there any specific poses, features, or group arrangements you’d like to include or avoid? 6. Do you have any location preferences, and are there specific times of day that work best for you? 7. Are there any special needs, preferences, or considerations I should know about (e.g., mobility, lighting sensitivities, or props you’d like included)?
