Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our pricing is based on square footage, travel distance, and the type of usage. Vacation rentals, Architecture and Design Photos, and Photos for a Builder are generally more than basic listing photos because we take more time to capture specific details as well as license the photos for an extended amount of time versus for just the listing period. When it comes to commercial video project we price them individually based on needs but generally work in the $5-10k and $10-20k price ranges.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically, I speak with the customer about a day and time that works best, we figure out which package works best for the client and they prebook on my site or by sending a payment through venmo/zelle/cash app and put the shoot on the schedule. We turn photos around in 24 hours generally unless it's busy season, then it can take a little bit longer, but that's rare. Videos are also usually the next day or done in 2-3 days after the shoot if it's busy season. For commercial work, we will sit down for a call or in person to discuss the goals of the project as well as what it will take to complete it and come up with a budget and a plan as well as the desired timeline for the project and figure out if it is doable.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have photographed real estate since 2014 for homeowners, agents, investors, builders, and commercial clients including home services businesses. For commercial video project we have created several client campaigns over the year that have resulted in more brand recognition and more leads and revenue as a result.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I got started when I was doing wedding videography (which I still do) and my first client reached out to me to get some drone video of his home to sell that was 1.7 million. After that I pitched to brokerages and overtime grew the business with word of mouth. On the commercial side of things, I spent some time working with other commercial brands and have done some smaller project myself which led to more of that kind of work.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with real estate agents, investors, flippers, property management companies, apartment complexes, home owners, airbnb owners, and other rental customers. We also work with agencies and business owners to create marketing content and youtube videos.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A project that I really enjoyed doing was a month-long project where I got to film behind the scenes for a skincare commercial project. We traveled to Iceland, London, Germany, and worked in Los Angeles in a studio for a lot of the work and I loved being able to have creative control over my part of the project as well as to get to collaborate with a lot of creatives. As for real estate, I photograph so many different places it's hard to pick, but I got a chance to photograph Christian McCaffrey's home that he had listed in North Carolina. That was a cool project that took a couple of hours and was the most expensive house I'd ever photographed.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would say look for consistently good work and good communication. There should be no reason that a photographer can't respond quickly when you reach out unless they are currently at a photoshoot.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
You should know your budget range, when you're wanting your shoot done and if anything needs to be done to prepare beforehand such as decluttering and landscaping. Are you going to be at the property to meet the professional or is there a lockbox, key hidden, or code?
